WBA Player
Our focus is to create competitive teams while teaching basketball fundamentals, promoting team play, improving individual skills and having fun in order to promote a life-long enjoyment of the game of basketball.
Season Costs
Tryout fees are non-refundable. The season fee is non-refundable if the player is selected for a team. If the player does not make a WBA roster, the season fee will be promptly refunded via check.
Volunteering
For each player a family has in the association, eight hours of volunteer time is required, up to a maximum of sixteen hours total. Please bring a $400 check for each player to season tryouts. If the total time is not satisfied, your entire volunteer check/s will be cashed at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. No exceptions and no prorated refunds will be given. These checks will be shredded at the conclusion of the season if volunteer hours requirements are met. You will have the option to have these checks cashed and opt-out of volunteer obligations if your player is selected for a WBA roster.

Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
We form teams for 4th-8th grade students. 3rd graders can try-out for a 4th-grade team, but will only be added to complete a 4th grade team and will only be eligible for the lowest 4th grade team.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
We host tryouts in August and the season runs until early March, with practices starting in September.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
We practice as much in Waconia as gym space allows. Practices can also be held in neighboring communities such as Chaska, Cologne, Norwood Young America, Mayer & Victoria. Tournaments may be played across the metro region.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Teams typically practice 2 times per week in the evening hours.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Teams are scheduled for 8 tournaments with the option to add up to 2 additional tournaments at the team's expense. These tournaments tend to fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Jerseys are available for purchase after tryouts through the WBA.
